After the trip to Cuba in August, Norway in December only seemed consequent. The following pages tell the story of a journey with MS Lofoten along the Hurtigrute. Unfortunately (well, it depends), the many panoramic pictures let little place for comments, so here's one word of explanation: the colour pictures describe the way to the north, while the black-and-white ones chronicle the return.

The map is of The Scandinavian kingdoms Norway, Sweden & Denmark from, of all places, Atlas of the State of Illinois to which are added various general maps, history, statistics and illustrations. The atlas was authored by Warner & Beers and published in Chicago in 1876.

I thought it was funny to present Norway on a map from an atlas of Illinois. It is by all means a fine map, though, so no regrets.
